I was thinking about replacing my stock Ruger 10 22 barrel with a Green Mountain .920 heavy fluted barrel. i was wondering what would be the best twist ratio for 100 yd target shooting(1:16 or 1:18)? Any suggestion. Thank you

Check out Hi-Desert Dog,they have a great selection and threaded ones for suppressor or other attachments,I have one and it shoots great

If you're contemplating longer ranges, do yourself a favor and buy a better barrel, like a KID.
Some GMs shoot great, others not so much. The sent out a BUNCH with over chamfered chambers. Lack of QC makes them cheaper. They made good on them, but still...
Kidd starts with Lothar Walther blanks, like Clark and Volquartsen. How they sell them for $200 I have no idea.
I think a 1:18 is intended for Stingers and other light bullet hypervelocity loads.

i love my whistle pig. its so light its like a BB gun. same 0.920" as my other 2 steelies, heavy bastards, but lighter by a bunch

The GM 18" on my 10/22 is 1:16. It shoots any subsonic/match decent stuff 3/4", usually less, at 50 yards. Great barrels for the price.

My Lilja 1 in 16 barrel works very well. I think I would try a Hart if I were buying another anytime soon though.

The downside of 1:9 is that it's only optimal for one load, and I've NEVER heard that Aguila SSS 60gr was match ammo from ANY barrel.
All other .22 rifles in production have twist from 1:15 to 1:17, with the overwhelming majority being 1:16. Take the hint.

I had a Kidd and it was a tack driver. However if I was to do it again I think I would get a Shillen.
