I shoot a custom 700 on a B&C adjustable. I currently have an older Harris swivel bipod that I believe is 9-12". I have the bipod lock on it. Two issues I have with it are as follows: spring loaded retracts instead of extends and it doesn't have notches.

I do have a pic rail on the front. I would love an atlas but, I can't plunk down $300 for one. I would like to use the pic rail rather than the swivel stud.

Is the versa pod a good option or should I just pick up the Harris bi-pod that has the options I want?

Thanks.

Get a new Harris BR-S with an accessory picatinny adapter.
You'd have to go with a steel Versa-pod if you wanted any kind of longevity but steel Versa-pods are kinda pricey. In my experience, Versa-pods are a serviceable bipod that are stable only if you're really loading into them.
And I personally wouldn't consider another Atlas (had two, sold one, probably sell the other one) unless it was the new PSR for a number of reasons, the rotating legs on the V8 being chief among them.
My new favorite bipod is the Long Range Accuracy Light Tactical but them's a bunch a money.
