NEWB Question: Just wondering where one could pick up a Remington AAC SD barrel? Or Equivalent? Just had a pretty bad accident few months ago and jacked up the gun. NXS took a hit too. Live in Southern Indiana. Any help would be appreciated.

You might be able to pick up a take off from someone and have it cut, crowned and threaded. It very well may screw right on and headspace with out issue. A complete re-barrel may also be in your future. To answer your email, I dont have any at this time but, check with Mike R. @ Tactical Operations. He goes by blackops here on the hide.

go to silencertalk and get ahold of RSILVERS. He is the one with the part numbers, dont know for sure if there are replacemnt aac sd barrels but he did have 300aac barrels for the 700. if anyone knows he would. sounds like a good time to have a custom barrel put on, if replacement barrels are available a custom tube probably wouldnt be much more. most take off barrels are going to be either 12 twist or 11.25 twist the aac sd barrels are 10 twist.

I want to see pics of the f'd up rifle. As for the barrel id say youre better off getting a match grade barrel, but there is a few take off SPS barrels in the for sale section. Not the AAC ones but im sure a smith could make em work.

I will dig for the pics. Just a slight bend. Stock is jacked and scope jacked but may be fixed. Their insurance cut a check for a replacement at $2580. Gotta love MSRP. I have located another Complete 700 AAC SD. Just gonna start over. I was just hoping to maybe rebarrel the action with the same kind of barrel. But after taking it to a local guy, he didn't seem to keen on how things looked with the stress the action took.
