I looked through the google engine and the site engine and couldnt find what i was looking for. Does anyone have the steps or how to of replacing a Factory Rem 700 extractor with a replacement Rem 700 extractor. Thanks

Re: Replacing a Rem 700 extractor

Like Sally said on prom night, "Just slide it right in"!

Seriously, there's a little lip that the extractor fits under, but the extractor slips right in and is easier in practice than it sounds. Just be careful not to bend the new one - it doesn't require much force to snap it into place. And don't reuse an old one, once they come out they are sprung and won't work correctly.

And if you spring the new one, it won't work either.

You mean a Remington extractor actually failed? There are those that won't believe that and how the bolt handle can come off.

no it didnt fail, it was to "long" and was ripping right through the case rims, and after some time with the dremel and a few hundred rounds later it didnt get any better. I ordered a new one and fitted it in there and it works like a charm now. Big Green's QC has gone down the shitter
