Gunsmithing REPR mod

Quick question to anyone that can help...

I have a 20" REPR that I'd like to get cut down to 16" and install a Surefire brake (MB762SSAL/RE 5/8x24)... will this in anyway alter or cause issues with the functionality (just looking for general knowledge)? I'll be running a can on it by the end of the year.

p.s I'll be having ABS due the smith work.

You might have issues having the barrel nut and handguard removed due to lwrc having a pripriatory wrench and nut you may have to send it back to them for the work. Just my 2 cents

That and it might be easier and cheaper to get a 16" upper. You'll also loose part of the NiCorr on the threads and crown if that is of any concern. Functioning wise it should work fine, but imagine you'll void the warranty from LWRC.

I decided to keep it as a 20" and add the brake. Thanks for your help gents...
