I currently have a WC Whisper suppressor in 9mm that I use with a SBR AR9 for IPSC... any experience/comments on the impact it might have on the future use with my A10 build (308). I’m looking to shoot PRS Tactical (Heavy)... will shooting through a slightly oversized suppressor degrade my accuracy? (18” or 20” WC fluted.. rapid arrangement threaded connection). Thanks for the assistance!

Folks buy larger caliber cans, to get the most use of them across multiple calibers, all the time. For example: I use my Ultra 9 30 cal on my 223 with no degradation of accuracy.

The real question is: is that can rated for a .308 rifle cartrige, in that barrel length?

Would think that be to much pressure for a 9mm can. I wouldn’t do it, pony up and get a rifle rated can.

But if you do by chance try it, take video and post

Trek,

Max and Red are right. Please call the manufacturer and ask them if using their 9mm can on .308 will overpressure the can. I think it will and I think they will tell you that. Please be safe. You are better off just buying a new .30 Cal centerfire rated can.

If ever my paperwork clears, I will have a .30 can, which I will use on several rifles, .308, .300, 5.56.

Especially with changeable endcaps, would love to have expanded that to pistol calibers, get a 9mm. But I could find almost no pistol caliber ones that handle rifle pressures, so gave up on that dream.

Agree: For any of these Qs on suppressors, call the maker. Sometimes, they even do midlife changes so may ask for your serial, there are changes in how it is rated based on attachment method, they have accessories to expand the scope of the work, etc. etc.

Thanks Max... I spoke to WC and they said it would be fine for 308... it will be interesting to review grouping benefits.

I did speak with WC but I’ve reached out to confirm in writing... my 9mm is huge... looks just like the rifle suppressors- one piece titanium. It’s very robust... but safety is always worth the time to confirm. Thanks for the feedback!
