Request Guidance: Rear Bag Tecnique?

Looking for guidance on the right way to manage a rear bag and keep the toe of the buttstock in check.

Hand placement and how to pinch the toe of the rifle and still be able to compress the bag. How hard to pinch? Is my objective to restrain the toe from shifting or lifting during recoil?

Looks like its pretty much just your thumb on one side, and the outside pocket of the shoulder on the other side...right?

Simple enough. I found myself going at it a few different ways.

Correct I support the stock with the thumb and the index finger and the bag using the middle, ring and pinky.

Was that a 300 yard target you were shooting?

I think it was either 300m, or at the 400m mark, I don't quite remember but its a meters range.
