I just bought a 700 SPS-V and of course it needs a stock. I am leaning towards B&C or HS but haven't felt enough to know what I want. I may want to change bottom metal down the road for a detachable magazine.

Perhaps a whack or two with a die grinder may be needed, but I assume any BDL stock will take the new bottom metal with minimal unskilled labor. Am I wrong? Is one aftermarket stock more accessory friendly than another?

Re: Restock

I have done a few PT&G DBM inlets with a 4 flute 3/8" mill bit. I did a H-S stock first and it was a real PITA because of the aluminum block, then I did a Manners and it came out so nice. I took my time and I didn't even have to do any filling when I was done. I still have to do some filling on the H-S Stock because it was hard to get a strait line through the aluminum. I am going to try another H-S stock once im settled into my new house.

Re: Restock

Both stocks are excellent choices, but I would wait until you can afford DBM, and just buy an inletted stock.

"Loc: Assachusetts"
^^^Thats funny!^^^

I should add, I had a B&C Tactical Medalist stock for my Savage, and the comb is so high, I couldn't use my bore guide without removing the barreled action to clean. The handle on my cleaning rod would hit the stock.

BC Light Tac (or light Var. can't remember) The one with the butthook. I promise you you will love it, I have several hsps, 1 mcm., and have shot several others. $ no object? go Manners, or Mcm. I have put my sps 243 in hsp, bc, and an AI chasis, and accuracy was the same, and someone will gladly buy the bc on here if you take care of it. HSP a lil smoother better feeling, but I love the BC, and think you will too.
redhawkrifles.com has the best prices I have saw on both.
