Going to be my first time getting a descent scope(for a 6.5 build). Currently have Vortex 6-24 PST SFP, and its a great scope. But I'd like a FFP, more functional reticle, and a little more clarity. Going to start shooting competitions, with a lot of holdovers, progressions, movers, mil'ing, positional shooting. The range I will spend most of my time at is 940yds, and plan on venturing out to some other regional competitions.

I like the Razor 5-20 with EBR-2, probably because of price. I have only been behind a razor spotter, but that glass was amazing for my noobie eyes. The few NF I have been behind are awesome, but I still have little experience. Really not finding anything affordable the S&B/Premier realm of course. The USO 3.5-17x44 TPAL falls in my price range as well.

I suppose versatility and ruggedness are my top priorities.

Thanks for any input.

The razor is a very solid scope.

You could get one of the new bushnells with a holdover reticule for 1200. Optically very close to the Razor but no illumination. A picky guy on another forum I go to has one of the new bushnells and is so far impressed with it.

edit: if you gave me 2500 I'd figure out to turn it into 2700 or so for a S&B 5-25.

I've heard the razor has a rather tight eye-box... which might make it less than ideal for your use.

You simply cannot go wrong with USO or NF; both in your price range.

Seeing more USO's at my range, guys love'm. Whats the wait? I kinda need something by end of the month. Some are pop'n up for sale here.

Great tip thanks. I need to try out some of the USO's at my range.

You might want to tell the guys from Team Vortex that. They might start shooting them worse LOL The Razor is fine for competitions and the rest of the OP's uses.

I would get the Razor over the NF just due to having more power on top. Razor has excellent reticles and all the options you need in a scope. It's a good set up and would be my choice over the NF or USO. And so you know I have owned multiple scopes of all three.

Using a 6.5mm round and $2500 budget go for the premier LT. Same glass as the Heritage but less money. The 18mil of travel won't matter since you are using a flat shooting round that takes less than 8 mils to get to 1000 anyway. If anything you could also look at the IOR 4-16 FFP for give or take $1600. Great glass, has a wind tree and will give you more money to buy ammo with for practice.

Just passing on the info I've seen on here... I think it was even a mod that mentioned it? Don't remember though.
