Reticle question

Which reticle do you like when shooting a rimfire greater than 100 yards? So many choices.....

The are so many of almost the same thing out there between the various manufacturers. I like a somewhat simple but still Christmas tree style reticle in a high power scope. I use several from Vortex.

I went with Athlon Argos 10-40x56 on my rimfire simply because of the fine target reticle and the 40 power. Nice to be able to see those tiny holes and don't like the reticle covering the target.

I've found that I really like the mil-type reticle with a floating dot, something like the Sig MRAD Milling reticle.

I think you have to be careful what you get for your 22.

If your going to participate in one of the ultra fun positional matches like the NRL22 stuff - those high power low field of view scopes suck at many of the distances you’ll be tasked to shoot.

I’ve seen S&Bs, AMGs and other scopes that focus down to at least 25y at the matches. I found the Vortex PST genII 5-25 an affordable option with nice turrets and reticle.
