I've got an older NXS 2.5-10x with the standard mildot reticle and in the last five years I've never dialed elevation or windage with it. Still, doing holdovers with a standard mildot reticle is less than ideal. While I know Nightforce will swap reticles, does anyone know if they'll do the same with a Horus reticle?

Buy one of the MLR or fine MOA reticles and get matching knobs. Thats what I would do. I think the Horus reticles are too busy in the windage department.

Re: Retrofit NXS w/ Horus?

The main reason I ask is that I love the scope - it's perfectly suited for the platform it's mounted on (18" SPR), however I'm one of those guys who prefers doing holdovers when shooting .223 and .308 (not always with windage, mind you). With the longer range, magnum calibers I always dial my elevation and windage.

Because of that, and instead of getting a new scope, I feel compelled to find a way to replace the mildot reticle with one more akin to the Horus, or the NP-R1 at the least.
