Gunsmithing Reuse a muzzle break?

Hey guys fast question. If you rebarrel a gun and are basically using the same barrel countour as your old barrel can you reuse the muzzle break you had on the old barrel and put it on the new one? Are there things to check before doing so is there a strong reason to not do it. Just wondering from those who have tried or know not to if that is the case. Let me know your thoughts.

Yes, make sure it's same caliber

I would re-use it. I can't think of any reason not to as long as there weren't any cracks or excessive wear.

Was the brake contoured to match the old barrel profile?

If the brake was timed like a lot of them are, your going to get it timed to the new threads. Other than that, consider the above points and you should be good.
