Reverse discrimination at Busch Gardens

This was an observation from 2 different events at Busch Gardens Williamsburg va.
My wife and myself have had season passes for Busch for several years now. It's local to us and we have enjoyed the park for the shows and a couple of the rides. However last night changed my view of Busch.
A couple weeks ago, we went to the kool and the gang concert there. It was a great performance and about 15 to 25 people had gone up to the railing separating the stage, dancing and having a great time. The lead singer reached out to the group, got somebody's phone and was taking pictures of the crowd with it before handing it back, etc. You had some people in the front couple rows upset due to their view being blocked. Security was right there letting it happen. We never thought anything about it.
Last night, we went to the Little River Band concert and it was fantastic. About half way thru, 6 or 8 girls any guys went up to the railing and were dancing and again having a blast. Again park security and an LEO were off to the side at the ends of the stage. A, what I believe to be lower management type, went up and made everyone return to their seats.
As we were leaving at the end, I spotted the guy who made the people sit down. He was talking to another manager type and a regular employee. I walked up and waited until I was acknowledged. I asked him why he made the few dancers sit down vs the kool concert. His reply was that there were no standing signs up there and that it was too late to make the group at the kool concert sit down, which is complete bullshit. His whole tone and attitude really pissed me off to the point I was ready to jack slap him.
Talking with my wife, we came to the conclusion that::
A - they were afraid to enforce the rules with a large group of blacks.
B - they were afraid of starting a riot
C - they were afraid of being accused of racism
D - they were not afraid of enforcing the rules on a small group of whites
E - another fine example of white privilege I guess

After this, I don't know if we will ever return to or get season passes again.

Rant / vent over thanks

Not interested in the white pity party, but those sound like two awesome concerts. Brings me back to my childhood.

They were both great. Kool and the gang was a great performance, the older stage show type, think soul train (nothing meant by that for you younger ones). LRB was a great concert, almost a jam session, laid back and as they said "this is your Saturday night, we're just the band". We really enjoyed the music of both.

What do you mean by that??
If you're in reference to me, I'm sick and tired of certain segments of the population being allowed to get away with what they want and then excuses being made for it.

U think you’re the only one? Eventually the only people attending these events will be social justice types and that’s not enough to sustain it. Management will have to do something.

Management is taking a page from the play book of Kamala Harris........ We are now in a society of "Do Nothing's"..... Ignore the problem and it will go away......

the best way to show your displeasure is not to get mad about it , but to stop supporting bush gardens they will get the hint sooner or later probably after they have to close up the park get woke go broke . I also doubt its reverse racialism as racism in any form is just racism .

Come on up to Charlottes Liberalville. We still have some great shows at the Pavilion on the Mall. I just won free tickets to see this guy with shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter...yeah, I know shes a libby but she sings nice and its free.

Yep....spend the money elsewhere. Sooner or later it will all start adding up....or subtracting depending on your math.

Having worked security as a deputy sheriff at 2 different venues in my county I can say first hand some artists have riders explicitly stating you can't dance, stand up, or take pictures in front of the stage while others state that as long as it is safe neither us or the venue private security were to stop them. Reba McEntire had in her rider that you could not be in front of the stage for more than 5 seconds and had a member of her crew actually timing people before they had us move them along. After the second time the same person was moved along we were to eject them from the concert. Sheryl Crow was one that said as long as it is safe not to bother the people. I feel bad for those in the first couple of rows when that happens.

That explanation is far too reasonable! This is the bear pit! It’s racism I say, RACISM!

Man, you should go to a slipknot concert. Bout half the people rushed the pit and security didn’t do a thing. Was awesome. Best pit i have ever been in.
P.s. big natives have a hard time dealing with a little pit action from skinny white boys. For biga ass, tough wanna be dudes, they sure hit the ground quick.

Finally some perspective.

Ok that works better. If the asshole I spoke with had mentioned that instead of the piss poor response he gave me, I would have had a different view on the situation. Just a little more info can make a huge difference. Thx

Because most likely that wasn’t the case here. Certain groups are well known for going crazy when breaking the rules and asked to abide by them. Ask anyone in security who flips out the most when asked to do what is even on a sign strait in front of them.

Today’s concerts are for pussies anyway. Bring back the day of general admission, where you could sit, stand, or dance anywhere you wanted. 😁🤪
I went to see the Stones in the Superdome in 1981. It cost me a whopping 20 bucks to get in, there were 87,500 people there, and it was all general admission. 😆

Dont take this the wrong way, but maybe because you were asking such a "i wanna be outraged" question, he thought you didnt have the intelligence or attention span to understand anything other than the answer he gave.

or maybe you shouldnt bring us every little piece of trash you find laying around.....

Dude deserves credit for accepting an alternate, more plausible theory. That puts him miles ahead in the Bear Pit.
