This was an observation from 2 different events at Busch Gardens Williamsburg va.
My wife and myself have had season passes for Busch for several years now. It's local to us and we have enjoyed the park for the shows and a couple of the rides. However last night changed my view of Busch.
A couple weeks ago, we went to the kool and the gang concert there. It was a great performance and about 15 to 25 people had gone up to the railing separating the stage, dancing and having a great time. The lead singer reached out to the group, got somebody's phone and was taking pictures of the crowd with it before handing it back, etc. You had some people in the front couple rows upset due to their view being blocked. Security was right there letting it happen. We never thought anything about it.
Last night, we went to the Little River Band concert and it was fantastic. About half way thru, 6 or 8 girls any guys went up to the railing and were dancing and again having a blast. Again park security and an LEO were off to the side at the ends of the stage. A, what I believe to be lower management type, went up and made everyone return to their seats.
As we were leaving at the end, I spotted the guy who made the people sit down. He was talking to another manager type and a regular employee. I walked up and waited until I was acknowledged. I asked him why he made the few dancers sit down vs the kool concert. His reply was that there were no standing signs up there and that it was too late to make the group at the kool concert sit down, which is complete bullshit. His whole tone and attitude really pissed me off to the point I was ready to jack slap him.
Talking with my wife, we came to the conclusion that::
A - they were afraid to enforce the rules with a large group of blacks.
B - they were afraid of starting a riot
C - they were afraid of being accused of racism
D - they were not afraid of enforcing the rules on a small group of whites
E - another fine example of white privilege I guess
After this, I don't know if we will ever return to or get season passes again.
Rant / vent over thanks
