I know this is ridiculous, and that it's "possible" but, what isn't... but here is my question.

Would it be REASONABLY possible, to set a Rem 700 Action in a M1A stock, specifically the SOCOM-II. I realize that this would require a lot of drilling and cutting, and that technically, it CAN be done, but reasonably...

Also, what would labor be estimated for this?

The appeal being, its fairly compact, sturdy, not excessively heavy, and has an incorporated DBM system that accepts magazines that are not as expensive and hard to find as AI mags.

Re: RIDICULOUS QUESTION!!!

Sure you can throw a large amount of money at anything and get it accomplished. Your biggest hang up is going to be making the 700 feed from the m14 mags.

Re: RIDICULOUS QUESTION!!!

IMHO, people assign way too much priority to the problem of the expense of AI mags. Sure, they're $65-$80. But, really, how many do you actually need. In the grand scheme of things you're talking about an extra $100-$200 at most over the cost of some other theoretical mag system, even if you do get it work perfectly for absolutely zero additional labor or bottom metal cost.

I would agree and will also add the wide acceptance of AI mags across several various BM Mfg's (with a relatively wide price point) and even non-AI chassis systems.
