Hey everyone, I just ordered a SAV-1 trigger from Rifle Basix for my model 16 and was wondering how it compares to the accutrigger, the one I have is the standard accutrigger that I think has a minimum trigger pull of 2.5lbs (I'm not sure about that number, its unmodified so I'm pretty sure that's the minimum). I ask because there aren't many comparisons of the two triggers out there and want some input.

Re: Rifle Basix SAV-1 vs Accutrigger

RB can be set lower than that safely if you know what your doing. I've built or help build 10 savages now and they all have a SAV-1 in them its just a more reliable and tunable trigger.

I've seen multiple issues with the accutrigger with the firing pin failing to drop to the bolt locking in place so RB all the way.

Good luck,
Merritt

I've got two centerfires with the Accutrigger and one rimfire; I personally like them alot.

I've also got an older 110 action to build on that will have a SAV-1.

Maybe once I get one I'll want a bunch...

I felt the same way until I used the accutrigger more and more, I kept getting more and more annoyed with it, mostly had to do with the blade. My Remington 721 has the factory trigger set at 2lbs and it is one of the best triggers I've ever used, I'm hoping the rifle basix is similar enough to it that I don't have any problems.

Haha, thanks, I can't wait until it gets here so I can install it, I've bought so many things for my savage in the last couple of weeks
