OK, I have two rifles taking up space as safe queens and some money I could spend to build me a shooter. What Im looking to come out with in the end would be a something in a 6mm - .308 cal. 18"-22" barrel. Mildly Target prepped action. And I will probably run a Burris Fullfield II Scope (because I have one laying around). Max range looking at 800 yards or sometimes maybe a little more.
As far as what I have to work with;
-Remington 700 LVSF .204, rebarreled to a .223.
-Remington 722 dont know the original cal, was rebarreled to a .250-3000 Ackley Improved.
-HS Precision PSC028 pro series competition stock.
Now, I would like to use the HS Precision stock, and the 700 LVSF action fits in the HS Precision stock. The drawback to the 700 action is that the 700 bolt face is the wrong size for anything around a 6mm-.308 case head. On the other hand the 722 actions bolt face is the correct size but I dont know if the 722 action will fit in the HS Precision stock.
Just wondering if any of yall might have any guidance or advice for me to consider. Thanks for reading and for your input.
