I've been back and forth between an old school win CRF in 30/06 and buying an FN SPR in 300wsm.
I have lots of 190, 210, and 220 SMKs as well as a several boxes of 200 grain spitzers.
FN owners- how do they shoot as 300s? I know the 308 sprs are great out of the box.
What loads work well?
Will the chrome lining make a significant difference in barrel life?
Is the chamber cut to shoot heavier bullets?
I have 308s that I load for and am shooting local comps. I want a rifle that will hit paper and steel beyond 308 distances. I may also get to go out west for elk.
