Rifle Finishes

I've waited four years for a GAP rifle, and I am finally in a place to purchase one.

The rifle I am going to get comes with a Manners T4 adjustable stock.

As far as finishes are concerned on the stock, I've always leaned toward the GAP Camo, but there are so many more options now. The multicam is a great looking pattern, and there are others as well.

Choosing a finish is subjective, but what I am looking for is some advice on which pattern is the best for my type of activity. I shoot tactical matches with my .223 rifle, and this GAP rifle will be used in the same setting. Are there any benefits to one camo as opposed to another, or is this entirely a subjective matter and I should just go with what I want?

Some examples of finishes can be found here, any input, even included which one is your favorite, would be helpful.

Thanks!

Re: Rifle Finishes

Camo is very much personal preference, but the whole point is to have the weapon blend in with your surroundings. To do it correct means you match the camo with where you normally shoot.
Gap sand= desert/ arid regions
Gap woodland= denser/ darker colored "wooded" regions
etc.....not really rocket science
I am partial to multicam as it's a pretty good match for anything but desert or snow

Camo is mostly for the eyes of the beholder, IMO. Just get what you like and roll with it. You can certainly match the camo to your surroundings pretty well if one wants.

Only Boltripper could come up with a new word. I like it....... "snipery".

Look on the "show your precision rifle " Thread. There are about a million choices there to steal. I agree with ARpredatorhunter, if YOU like it, that's all that matters.

I don't think there could be a bad choice, if it's on a GAP rifle.

Re: Rifle Finishes

Lighter colors are cooler in the hot sun. Solid desert tan is my personal favorite for the metal and maybe just a shade darker on the stock. Sure beats a black rifle when it's 100 degrees and sunny. What kinda camo matches best in tactical matches anyway? LOL
