I was at the range running some rounds over the chronograph with my new SPR, and the camera was handy so I made a little video. The video is just a rough concept, and has a few mistakes, but I'm curious what you guys think before I make a well produced version.

Incase you're wondering, the distance was 100 yards. The gun still needs some parts/refinement, I want to use a lower receiver with tighter tolerances, and the trigger is a temporary from another gun, a 4lb single stage, it'll eventually have a Geissele high-speed. And my front BUIS showed up the day after this range trip, not that it helps accuracy… I'm hoping that once I get a good hand-load developed I can push the golf ball shooting out to 150 yards, and maybe 200 yards if I'm allowed to be optimistic... After all, I've gotten .55 MOA out of 77gr Fiocchi Match King, so I think it can be done. A few days before I was easily hitting them at 120 yards with the Fiocchi.

I only grazed the last golf ball, I know... If I'm allowed to make one excuse, it's because the ammo I was using wasn't very good. After burning up all my other ammo over the chronograph, all I had left was standard Black Hills 75 gr, which was only good for 1.5 MOA.

Lastly, I eventually want to get on a flat grassy range with some golf tees and see how far I can actually drive the balls with .223.

Cool, I've actually done that with a .22 rifle before. We would just throw the golf balls across the ground and shoot at them to see how far we could launch them. You can get them to fly a decent ways if you hit them right.

I think it flowed right along.

Cool vid!

Is that your only USO? Does it have the features you wanted? I'm only asking because that's the scope I think I've settled on.

Not to hijack the thread or anything.

It's my first and only USO, currently, but I'll certainly be getting more in time. It's got just about everything I could ever want, maybe even more than I can really make proper use of at this point. For me it's nice to know that as I improve as a shooter, I won't out-grow the equipment.

It's a SN-3 1.8-10x with an EREK knob, 1/4 MOA adjustments, lit GAP MOA reticle, and ERGO parallax. I though about getting the side parallax knob, but I like having it up front as it's more precise, just as easy to reach, and doesn't crowd the other knobs. You really can't go wrong with USO, they can configure the scope any way you need. The thing is heavy, but the glass is fantastic, all the knobs are supper smooth and the indexing is very precise; it's one of the best purchases I've made.

I was using a Kodak zi8 as the down-range camera, and a Canon 5D mk2 with a 70-200 f2.8 for everything else. For editing I use Final Cut studio 7.

Pics on that stand?? Ive always wanted to build a stand to put gold balls and tennis balls up at 300 to 350 yards.

Edit: Nice pics,Rifle and video. Hopefully more to come.

You build that SPR yourself? Whose barrel is in it?
</div></div>

I do love it up in Vermont this time of year, the deeper the snow, the happier I am. Paradise is skiing, slippery roads, and no crowds at the range because it's to cold for everyone else.

The SPR was a custom build, but I didn't personally do the assembly on the upper. The barrel is a stainless Krieger 1/7.7 twist.

Re: Rifle Golf *video*

cool filming. you could tell it was a DSLR as soon when you were changing the depth of field in the beginning. very cool what those cams can do.

keep it up, fun to watch well done vids!

Loooks like an ST-10 but I could be wrong (and often am)

To the OP- nice photo and video work there.
