Can't wait to get out and shoot it. It shot very well prior to upgrading the stock & optics, so hopefully it can only get better.

Re: Rifle is pretty much done

Hopefully I get some free time on my days off to shoot this thing. Even with the previous stock & optics it was a pretty good shooter (B&C A3, Falcon 4-14). Hand loads were producing less the 1/2 moa 5 shot groups at 100 yards.

It better not get worse with the NXS & AICS, or I'll freak out.....lol

Re: Rifle is pretty much done

Finally got out Friday & shot it with the new stock & glass. Got it zeroed and proceeded to shoot steel with it at 300 yards.

I kind of took a gamble on buying the AICS since I've never had an opportunity to handle one. From what I'd gathered here & on other forums it seemed to be either guys loved or hated them. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with it. It's a heavy beast, but I really like the fit & feel.

Shooting 5 shot groups from the prone w/bi-pod I managed to keep it under 1 MOA through 25 rounds. Ready to stretch this thing out now & see what it's capable of.

Next on the list for her is an AAC 762 SDN-6

Re: Rifle is pretty much done

Just last fall I switched to the AICS and so far am very pleased. Also got the OD.

Did you bed the action or just go with it?
I bedded my rifle due to the action being a 1/4" longer than a rem, I had to mill out the recoil lug so I just bedded the whole thing. Shoots great out to 604 yds so far (farthest I shot since the change in stock). And at the comp last weekend, hit the prarie dog at 500 yds on last try. Was a tricky windy day for me.

Regards,
_DT

Oh and I am also waiting on a suppressor. Just got the email it being shipped to my ffl/sot now. Very very excited.

I haven't shot one out of a box blind, but I've shot one in matches from all sorts of weird contorted positions

. Resting an AICS on a blind shouldn't be a big lift. IMO

Re: Rifle is pretty much done

D_TROS,no I didn't bed the action. Might be something that I do on down the road depending on what kind of accuracy I'm getting.

So far all looks good, but I'll feel more confident after I've put quite a few more rounds down range.
