Hello Hide Members!

So I am considering purchasing a Daniel Defense MK12 upper and pairing it with my Colt M4 lower. Should I be concerned since the DD has a rifle length gas system and the Colt has a standard carbine buffer system? Will I run into any issues with the cycle rate/ dwell time, etc.? Let me know your thoughts, also if anyone is running a DD MK12 how do you like the system? Thanks in advance.

You won’t have any problems. The rifle length is by far my favorite gas system length. When you get used to shooting it you can really feel the difference between it and a carbine length. The carbine, and even the mid length, start to feel much more violent once you shoot the rifle.
I’m currently shooting almost all 18” barrels and rifle length gas systems. If you want to get crazy, throw an A5 system on there with the buffer that comes with it. That is like shooting a .22 LR. You literally can’t see your dot or crosshairs move.

Back to your OP, you’ll be fine with that buffer. I’d go to an H1 though. If it were me.
