does any one use something like pictured in the link above ? I though about sewing up something like this only with out the muzzle cover thing, i was mainly going to use it to carry the rifle around from range to car and car to range.

also what sort of features ( for those of you that use these )
do you wish it had ? ex: small pocket for pen/pencil or place on the out side to hold 5 rounds or what ever.

Re: rifle scope covery

ya they do allot of places do.... i just feel the need to try and make it my self.... lol some things you cant like molle vests haha but the small stuff i just feel good trying to make stuff like that, maybe i can get my hands on an embroidery machine and put the SH logo on the side of it

Re: rifle scope covery

The Blackhawk doesn't fit too well with a sunshade attached to the scope so you might consider making it a little longer than theirs.

You know he can't risk being seen by the spelling B judges.

Here's a question: "who in the real world has a need for those monstrosities?" These covers are examples of over-engineering taken to the seriously stupid level. If you want a cover like this, just put your rifle in a case.....geez.

Really? you dont think that if you were hiking up the side of a mountain or going through thick brush (hunting for example) with your rifle strapped to your back you'd want one of these to protect your scope and crown?
To each his own I guess.

I just finished hiking up more than a few mountains and hills this past week while hunting with a pack and rifle. The last thing I want is more weight and bulk. People who actually hike up mountains a lot carry less, not more: certainly not this useless garbage. Also, when busting the desert brush(where everything has a thorn or sticker), my rifle is in front of me, not on my back....

Re: rifle scope covery

I swear, one of my priorities has got to get some much better pictures up on the site of our rifle cover. That one picture just doesn't do it any justice at all.

Special ordered a fur-lined one no doubt.

Re: rifle scope covery

My rifle spends the majority of it's time in the back of an Expedition pinned between the tailgate and a 300lb steel box with the rest of my gear in it. It's in the pack but I like having a little extra padding around it.

I'm with you!
After spending the amount we do on optics I try to take care of something that is a key component of the system that can be screwed up relatively easy imo.

Here's another.
Seriously, this is the basic non-custom cover, and it's perfect.

And while we're at it, the Elite Biathlon Sling.
