Hi guys I am looking at different scopes and having a hard time deciding. I have asked around the local shooting community and have heard all different opinions. The scopes that I am looking at are as follows:
Burris xtr II 4-20x50
Nightforce shv 4-14x56
Us optics ts-20x
Leupold vx3i lrp
Vortex viper pst gen II 5-25x50
It’s going on a Remington 700 5r 223 and going to be consistently shooting 300 to 600 yards i am trying to stay under $900 and I can get all thoes scopes at that price or under because of being a fire fighter

Are you going to use it to hunt or target shoot?

There are several other companies that offer first responder discounts.
Check Sightron and Sightmark as well.
I just checked out a Sightmark Pinnacle 3-18, it is a really nice, Japanese (LOW) made rifle scope.
They also offer the latitude, a Philippine made 6.5-25 optic that is pretty damn nice as well.

I will look them up

Sightron has some new s-tac stuff that looks great. Their warranty has been solid (replaced a near 20 year old 4-16 s2 with a 4-16 s-tac).

Lots of companies have first responder discounts. Just have to call and ask. Careful, as sometimes the discount off msrp isn't as good as some vendors sale pricing.

I have the PST Gen II and like it quite a bit. I've used it out to targets at 600 yards and thought it performed very well and had very clear glass. I've never spent the money on anything nicer, so I can't really compare that, but the Vortex, in my opinion, is an awesome scope.

If you choose one of the scopes on your list, be sure they are FFP (first-focal plane), and that the dials and reticle match (mil/mil or MOA/MOA).

Another option at your price point is the SWFA 10x42 HD. It is fixed magnification, but you will get excellent turrets, glass, and durability batting far above its price point. For that, you will sacrifice variability. That may not new such a bad thing for your purposes. 300-600 yds is sitting in a sweet spot for a nice 10x.
