Are there any advantages to Ching Slings or CW Clings versus the various cuff versions (TIS and TAB, for example)?

I have not used Ching/CW slings, but they look to provide the same function and be faster to get in and out of. Curious what the more experienced have to say...

Re: Rifle Slings- Cuff vs. Ching / CW

The Ching sling is meant as a carry sling that can be quickly unslung and into position as a shooting sling. It's quick to unsling from the shoulder and then use as a shooting sling. The cuff slings are steadier and better for shooting, the Ching sling is for fast deployment like in for hunting use.

Re: Rifle Slings- Cuff vs. Ching / CW

The Ching Sling was never meant as a Sniper Sling. Mr. Ching was a super nice guy and his sling is really good for shooting hunter style at shorter distances but it will never be able to compete with either TIS or TAB Slings for precision shooting.

As to fast well the TIS Quick Cuff will make 600 yard shots far faster than a Ching sling could hope.

Mike,

I am happy you did not take offense to my putting the tactical shooting slings under the label 'cuff.' I know the (Quick) cuff to be your unique design.

I have your Slip Cuff, and although it is not slow by any means, I would imagine a Ching being quicker. Simply because I do not need to adjust/slide the buckle. You state your Quick Cuff is faster than a Ching. Would you recommend it as a hunting sling then?

LW, no offense at all. As to Quick Cuff being a hunting sling, it is currently used on thousands of sniper rifles for hunting the worlds most dangerous game. For hunting for four legged game to eat I have used the Quick Cuff for many years. The only thing I do is sew a small belt loop type thing on my off side shirt upper sleeve are so cuff is always up there and loose. I just click in when I need to shoot. Cant beat that for speed and or accuracy.

Mike, thanks for the quick reply and tip.

Going back to the Ching- I was looking more into slings and was reading about 'Hasty' slings. Which appears to be simply twisting your arm through a regular carrying strap. Does the Ching offer greater stability than this method?

If not I am having difficulty in seeing any advantage in it. A regular carrying strap is cheap and does not require the odd third stud. While, the 'cuff' styled slings offer superior accuracy. Where does the Ching fit in?

Sorry for delay in answer.

No idea what MountainShooter said and have never seen his sling so this does not apply to anything he may have showed or said.

I have been doing this a long time and only slings I would use for sniper opps anymore are either mine or TABs.

For Hasty either mine of TAB does the wrap quickly and as well as any other sling, but the real difference is both TAB and TIS have slings you can shoot with precision with, in and out of quickly and use for more than an orniment on rifle. The lether 1907 will work but is slower, heavier and wears/molds faster.
