Fellas,
Does anyone have a formalized rifle test/evaluation procedure? I will be taking delivery of a custom build in the next month (I hope) and want to give it the most careful evaluation I can. In coming up with a method I may begin with the NRA/American Rifleman metrics. However, as the rifle cost me an arm and a leg I think it is worth sparing no effort in the evaluation.
As for equipment on hand I have invested in a Lead Sled, Chronograph, and a variety of custom loads from Copper Creek as well as some factory loads (I think I have 12 different loads to test).
I am quite fortunate to have both former SEAL and Army snipers in my area who are happy to pull the trigger for me. Once I am done with that I will pass the rifle off to a builder for evaluation. I'm saving that for last as the argument could be made that he is not objective in his opinion on someone else's work.
I am open to suggestions...
