Killing time in my local FFL today waiting to pick up a new toy; owner asks me "Do you know how to put this together?":

Champions Choice Scope Stand

Takes me about 30 seconds to whip the parts together - turns out he bought it from an estate. Asks me if I'm interested, hell yeah I said, 75 bucks he said. Full kit, all extensions, weights, spikes, all of it.

I might just go buy a lottery ticket.

Now I've got something to swing that Kowa 662ED off of!

Spotting scope stand

Re: Right Place, Right Time

The "scope stand" label can be kind of confusing

It's a spotting scope stand that can be varied in height up to 6" according to number of 2 foot sections installed; uses a fold-up bipod counterbalance base and a scope platform adjustable in 3 axes. Uses either a 10lb weight or soil spike on the bottom of the lower section for stability. For field/hunting, one section with the groundspike and the folded legs makes for a scope mount that is compact to carry but stable when deployed. Not the nicest of this type, there is one that allows 3 axes of scope adjustment with a single knob, but it deservedly fetches a higher price. I was going to make one, even have all the aluminum rod and plate, but for this price, fabricating myself isn't worth the time.
