I’m a southpaw and have been in the market for a HD shotgun. They have the new Mossy 590A1s in LH which I like but everyone keeps saying run a RH for combat reloads. The question I have is if have the ejection port on the incorrect side is such a benefit why don’t I see more righties running left handed actions? I guess I’m just frustrated because I’d love an 870P but they don’t make it in a lefty and the new LH express is junk. Any or opinions or insight is appreciated.

You have to use whatever you can be most proficient with. I'm a lefty and have all left hand guns with the exception of my 10/22. I have a Benelli lefty for my tactical shotgun.

I had a BPS and got rid of it. It was too pretty to drag through the woods like I wanted and frankly the only thing worse than reloads was combat reloads. Currently my plan is to get an older left hand 870 wing master and have it cut down, coated, and turned into an 870P effectively.

So i started shooting both ways

Right and left handed

I don’t get the need to switch the controls on say a Glock to lefty
Learn to run what you find 95+% of the time- and that’s a right hand version.

It’s true when you shoot left, the hulls cross in front of your face.
Same with the AR 15

If you are say sitting in the driver side of your car and you need to lean of the window and engage a target to the front and rear.
What hand is dominant?
What eye do you use?
I tend to mix stuff up and use what works- eyes or hands.

With shotguns, many folks cannot walk and reload.
Many cannot shoot while moving.

Their are at least 2 pumps that are bottom ejection guns.

When you see Flea playing bass, of John Bonham on Drums, well I realize it is the musician, not the instrument.

Their are those guys at the range... the ones where other people ask them to shoot their gun to see if the sights are on or off.

So let me shut up and say the firearm will last you your entire life... it is cheap... you will spend more $$$ on OO buck and foster slugs than you will on the shotgun

Get what you want- the gun will last for ever if you take care of it
