What do you plan to shoot with this? I would start with some Lapua CenterX or Eley Match and plan to lot test to figure out what the rifle likes.
Target, competition use @ 50, 100 & possibly 200yds. New calibre for me, and I don't know anyone shooting with exact same setup, so many thanks for the advice
Rimfire barrels can be extremely picky about what they like and dislike. for 100 and beyond my favorite is Lapua Super Long Range. You can also try SK Long Range. Many are in the Eley camp and they make great ammunition as well, their Ultra Long Range though has been a bust for me and many others. Their Match and 1oX is excellent.
I've head they can be extremely picky, so will have to try a couple of different types. Any comments on Lapua Centre-X?
I love it, It has time and time again been my favorite as I have found it the most consistent lot to lot. I geet a bit better groups with Midas if I find the right lot for the rifle in question. Neither Midas nor CenterX can match SLR at 100+ yrds.
I have accurate lots of sk rifle match, eley team and eley match for my RimX / 26" Ace / Eachus chamber / Mike Manzella gunsmith. Of the three, eley match is best all around for me from 50-300y. Below is an eley match group I shot for a 22LR "long range" qualification (club requires certification to shoot beyond 200yds with 22LR (2" dot for ref)). 12.1 mils @ 300. Can't stress lot testing enough.
