It's fine.
People will tell you that the benefit is that similar metals will expand/contract at the same rate when heat/cold is a factor, etc etc. But there's always going to be some metals that aren't the same whether it's steel rifle and aluminim base or steel rings and an aluminum scope.
Many other much more important factors to worry about, just use quality rings and bases and you'll be fine.
