Hello, I have a Nightforce 5.5x22x56 on the way that will be used on an upcoming 338 Lapua Build. It will be on a Defiance action with a 30 MOA base. Just wondering if anyone has this same setup and what height badger rings you're using. .885 or the 1" height.

Thanks in advance

Alan

I have that scope and an AICS stock in 308 heavy varmint and I used Seekins mediums. The cheek weld on the AICS sits pretty high and I needed the mediums even if I had gone with the 5.5x-20-50. It depends on your stock also.

This question has been asked on about 4 or 5 threads over the past week.

To answer the question though, I have 0.885 and find it a nice fit for me. I have an oval shaped face and im about 5'9".

If the rifle were for a big guy I would say the 1" high rings would suffice, and any height needed should not be a problem with the AICS 1.5 and 2.0

This will work perfect for you. I posted this a couple of weeks ago in the scope section:

If you already have your base and scope, the easiest method is to stack pennies on the rail where you will mount your rings and set your scope on them. When you have the correct barrel/bell clearance, this is your height. Measure the stack of pennies with calipers and add .5" for 1" scope tubes, .59055" for 30mm tubes, and .66929" if you have 34's. This will give you the correct height of rings to buy.

Note, if you run a Butler Cap, please allow enough clearance.

FYI: I run a 12-42x56 NF NXS and I needed the 1.125" rings on my 20 MOA Rail. I have a custom #7 contour barrel and a Remington action.
