Hi,

I've tried the search, gave up after four queries and 20 pages each. Sorry if this has been posted...

I am ordering a USO with 35mm tube and 58mm objective and from what I can calculate the medium rings should be enough. But can anyone confirm? It would be a shame to order USO rings that don't fit

58mm Ergo?? My 44mm Ergo was only a c-hair smaller than my 56mm Premier.

Yes, 58mm Ergo. I tried the lows and the objective would not clear the barrel. It was close, mabey .020 too low.

Re: Ring height USO 56mm objective

I just went through this, but with another scope/ring combo. I inadvertently ordered a set of Badger 34mm 1.275" rings and found them to be too high (5/8" clearance off the barrel) for the PH 5-25x56mm I was mounting. I sent them back to Brownells and they're sending me the 1.0" set of rings. Just be sure the company you order them from has a good return policy should the set you order not be to your satisfaction.

I know what your saying in regard to 'predicting' what the optimum set of rings is going to be. Lots-o-factors involved: objective diameter, eye-relief, barrel taper, etc. Again, just be sure you pick a vendor that will work with you,... Oh, and be as careful as you can when unpackaging your rings in case you have to box them back up and return them. Hope this helps!

Re: Ring height USO 56mm objective

Here is how I measure for rings so I dont run into the same problem.

I use 2 sets of feeler gauges, I have someone help me hold them on the base, and I seat the scope on the feeler gauges as if they were the rings. I then add or take away enough strips to see where the scope needs to be, then I masure the feeler gauges with calipers and that tells me how far off the base I need the bottom of the scope to be.

Makes buying rings much easier. But this method doesnt help if you dont have the scope and rifle on hand.

That's a good trick! Thanks! I've got a couple sets of feeler gauges around here,... somewhere

Next time I need to order up a set of rings for a scope, I'm going to do this. Thanks again!

I didn't know butler creek made one that big, what is the BC part #?

Re: Ring height USO 56mm objective

They don't anymore, mine came with the glass back when.

I've been looking for replacements to stash. Made a backup out of a intertube, works OK but I'd like to find another BC for sure.
