I have a 40X that I recently put into a McMillan A5 stock using a Whidden Aluminum Bedding Block. The rifle shoots Great. As well as expected. But on my last range trip (which was the first in this stock) I noticed an audible "ringing" sound transmitted thru the stock into my ear every time I fired. Last night I dry-fired it and noticed the same thing. Anyone experience this? It's a little annoying. Can it be stopped?

Yep... I sure did! And so far it's worked out beautifully!

And... I just discovered what was causing the ringing! It's the springs on the Bipod!

But so you know, the stock was a new one that wasn't bedded at all. I decided to step outside the box a little and use a Whidden Bedding Block instead of traditional bedding. Nothing against the tried and true methods of bedding... I'm just not good with messy adhesives and all the mess with the Whidden is where you can't see it. I've taken my lumps on an earlier post but the operation was a success. Also, if I want to put another Remington SA in it all I have to do is drop it in, screw it down and go! I'm happy with it...
