Gunsmithing Rings and bases

I just purchased a new Rem 700 SA in .308. I am going to put a tactical rail of some type to mount the scope most likely a badger. My question is I have an older Leupold 3x10x40 scope I want to mount any idea on ring height low medium high and I think it would use 30mm rings.
I know I left a couple things out so I will answer all questions if you have advise!

It's a "sticky" in the "Sniper's Hide Rifle Scopes" section. It has the procedure for determining ring height.

Furthermore, measure the tube diameter of your 3-10x40 to ensure it's not 1".
