First off, I searched a bunch of ways, and couldn't find anything in the first dozen or so responses in any search! I am not impressed with our search function/my search skills...

I am looking for advice and intel on what rings are available for the CZ rimfire rails, mine is a 453...looking to clear a 40-44 mm objective FWIW.

Thanks for any info.

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

I have CZ rings mounted to the receiver rail on my 452, and they work pretty well with my Nikon/40mm obj scope. I have a Butler Creek covers on it and there's at least an 1/8" clearance on the barrel.

The quality seems pretty decent, and I'm happy with them, but they aren't the cheapest set of rings out there. My picture isn't the best angle to see barrel clearance, but it's the best I have at the moment.

I agree, but if you don't need a sloped base I like BKL rings and they mount right to the dovetail.

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

I had a base from DIProducts but when installed it wasn't flat. The front and rear of the base would raise up where the screws tightened. It put my rings way out of alignment and could have damaged the scope if i didn't catch it.

I put some rimfire rings on that mounted to the factory base and am much much happier.

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

Depending on which model you have, it may have a 11mm or a 3/8 dovetail mount. I have a 452 American and found out it has a 3/8 rail. My shop ordered some CZ rings for me which are/were at the time only available in 11mm. I cut them on an EDM to the 3/8 rail and am happy.

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

I put some Warne 7.3's that I had onto the rail for now. The Warne dope says they work on a 3/8" rail, which they snugged down fine, and were aligned properly, so I think all is well. I may try to get to a 25 MOA base eventually, but I'll be running these for a bit til I decide on a different scope--running a basic 3x9x40 Sightron for now....

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

i just got my 452 varmint in 22lr. it has a dip 20moa base with high burris signature zee rings. my scope is a ss 10x42. i was unsure what height to use so i bought both highs and mediums and brought the rig to my local 'smith. he decided to use the high rings because the bolt wouldnt clear the mediums. thanks ray parga at delvalle gunsmith. good luck fish301.

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

Thanks bad, I was just able to clear the ocular on my scope, and only if it had the power ring at 3.5 or higher...@ 3 the bolt root would touch the 'bump' on the power adjustment ring and cause issues...a different scope would eliminate the issue...I will see if I can get to 200 yards with the right scope, and a set of Talley's, if so I'll be good, not looking to really shoot 200 much, but would like enough adjustment to get there....can't bring myself to put a 30mm tube on a 22 just yet.....

Re: Rings for CZ 453 rimfire

Well, I learned a little bit on Talley rings, their standard rings will snug up perfect on a 3/8" dovetail! Now their standard rings cost more than their rimfire rings--that I haven't figured out yet, but I will. Long story short, I changed out the Warne 7.3's and put on a set of screw mount Talley medium heights, worked perfect, bolt JUST clears the ocular on scope. I like it!
