Hi gang,

I just picked up an IOR 3.5-18x50 from the forums and will be mounting it on a Rem 700 LTR. From some posts and pictures I've seen, it looks like low rings will work.

At some point I'd like to add a level and ACI to this rifle, however, the scope body in front of and behind the turret assembly doesn't offer a lot in the way of real estate. And in low rings, I'm not sure how much room I'll have under the scope tube, on the base, to run a mount or two for the aforementioned accessories.

The IOR rings look like they are the "thinnest" in terms of allowing access to tube real estate. But the Nightforce rings offer the option of an integrated level, and ACI mount.

Curious as to the opinions of hide members.

- How are the NF rings in terms of quality and will they need to be lapped so they don't leave ring marks?
- If I go with IOR rings, same traffic as above, and does anyone have any accessories mounted on the scope tube? Is there room?
- If you are using low rings on a 700, how much room do you have above the rail and below the scope tube for sideways mounts for levels and such?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Rings for IOR 3.5-18x50

I have an IOR 3.5-18 mounted on an LTR myself. It's in IOR low steel rings. I have approximately 1/4 inch between bottom of tube and top of my badger base.
