RIP Mr. Steinbrenner

Re: RIP Mr. Steinbrenner

Certainly made baseball interesting, and even if you didn't like him, you definately knew he was out to win and didn't tolerate failure. Money wasn't everything--he wanted to win, and badly.

Too bad the same can't be said about the Cubs...

Rest In Peace Mr. Steinbrenner, baseball will be that much duller without you.

Re: RIP Mr. Steinbrenner

It is a bit curious. I was a huge Yankee fan as a kid during the 70's, and remember how much Steinbrenner was generally HATED - I mean with a vitriolic passion, by many in and out of New York!

I stopped following baseball ages ago, but evidently his rep was rehabilitated over the years! The media here has been carrying on as if a head of state had passed!

He definitely left an impression, that is for sure!
