Back in BHam!!!
I'm wanting to try some RL-17 in my .308 shooting 185 VLD's and hear of people having good results with RL-17 in their .308's shooting heavies.

Anyone have some good load data to share?

I currently run 42.5gr of RL-15 in Lapua brass getting 2585 fps out of a 22" barreled Savage with a SAS suppressor. This load runs pretty warm, and I'm hoping to squeeze out a few more fps with the RL-17.

I'm also going to try some hBN coated bullets as well.

190 SMK shoot well at 2580 fps. with 45.0 gr. RL-17 in Lapua brass in my 26" bbl. I can get them over 2700 fps. easily, but they shoot much better around 2580 fps. Bump it up about 0.5 gr. for Hornady or Win. brass.

I was getting 2550 out of 208's using W760 and a 22" barrel.

I'm also reading that most are getting 2600+ out with 208's using RL17. You should be able to get those 185's smokin.

Jason,

I am using 47.5gr RL-17 w/Lapua brass,210gmm primer,and 190 vld's. I am getting 2710fps from my Hart barreled 308.

It is close to a max load in my gun but does well even in the heat of summer.

jason, i was shooting 185 berger vld's with 44.5 gr r-17 and using 208 amax with same charge. bergers seated .015 into lands, giving a higher start pressure.
