More than 20 months ago when I thought to build up a new 338Lm SWS I just started to search for a new bipod that could satisfy my needs .
No one of those I already had on my SWSs had the right specs because I wanted a new strong , rock-solid platform , that could lower the center of gravity of the rifle , a bipod which legs could be opened and closed in multiple positions , legs with interchangable feet , easy to handle even wearing gloves or with the hands covered in mud from prone position .
Surfing the net and chatting with friends I got in touch with RND ( http://www.rndrifles.com/ ) and his mastermind Lloyd Desantis , talked with him about my needs and he promised to take care about that .
Lloyd is a great guy , he did exactly what he promised and , after few months , last week he delivered to me my new bipod , code #RND-201 .
I got the bipod this morning , no shot it yet , but it is exactly what I dreamed about .
My very first impression was : " man ,never seen a bipod like this ,it is like a tank!! " , so rock solid indeed !
The bipod has two separate legs , each one is 10" , extensible of 4" more just pressing the right button close to the foot , the feet are interchangable with others more grippable on the ground still in development ( but they 'll be ready very soon ) .
Any leg can be positioned in seven positions indipendently from the other , at 0 degrees , 25 degrees , 65 degrees , 90 degrees , 65 degrees back , 25 degrees back and 0 degrees back , to move the legs just slide the top of the leg and move it back or forward , to move the legs and to make them longer can easily be done from prone position .
The attachment of each leg to the Picatinny rail is done just tightening a big checkered screw , the head of the bipod needs three rail slots .
I'm very satisfied by this new bipod , RND made a great product in my opinion , I'll make more business with him in the close future .
Now some pix , they'll tell more than many words
RND-201
Some more in short time ,
PP out
