I read they went bankrupt and another company in Montana bought the business. Does anybody know if this is so? Contact info? I`m interested in the FX model for my next 338 Lapua build.

Thanks,

Last I heard from someone I trust is the Montana company has decided not to bring the stocks back on the market. To bad they were very nice stocks.

You might poke around on rimfire central or, even better, steelchickens. I remember reading a lot about this maker from the guys who are serious into smallbore silhouette. Robertson made a stock designed by some competitive shooter named Pharr. Really, it was one of those things designed by a top shooter to almost accomplish within some crazy rules what any adjustable stock would do if it wasn't against the rules. As if outlawing adjustments in a competition stock accomplishes anything shy of making money even more important since folks with cash can have a stock custom made to exactly their ergonomics. Anyhow, Roberson made it and it was the lumber to have for your Anschutz 1710 if you wanted to have what the best were shooting. The guys on these sights seem to be following what was going down with Roberson a few years back when I was looking for a 1710 stock and stumbled on all this information. Good luck to you.

If you have never shot with one, they are awesome silhouette stocks. I have been lucky enough to shoot with several, and it really makes shooting offhand a dream.

These were the best fibreglass stocks available in North America....period. Shame the investors ran the company into the ground. The original proprietor, Ian, is still doing some of the best gun smithing in Canada.

If you really want one, watch Steel Chickens or RFC and they sometimes come across there. You will have to send it to somebody like Chad Dixon to fill in and inlet but it would be well worth the money for offhand shooting. For off the bench the ergonomics are all wrong but it can be made to work. Your other option is to go to Mark Pharr and have him make you the same stock out of a nice piece of wood, but that will really cost

Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure. Back when I was seriously looking for a 1710 stock I probably would have bought one if it had been available. At this point though I have done some heavy modification on my Kimber 82g stock and rifle and since I haven't run into any serious NRA rule silhouette matches locally being non conforming in just about every way isn't a problem. At the moment I'm not shooting the 1710 much anymore and instead working to modify the 82g to do more of everything.
