Hey guys, I have a brand new rock river chrome BCG that I was going to use for a precision SPR build. Its going to be built with a lothar walther stainless 18" barrel and a seekins billet upper. Good stuff... anyways, do you think the RRA chrome bcg is good enough? Or should I still use the carrier and everything but change the bolt to a high end match bolt or something? I've always had good luck with RRA bcg's, but just didnt know if it would effect accuracy at all... if a better bolt would just be better. Let me know yalls opinions. thanks!

It will probably be "OK" but RRA stuff certainly isn't the best nor is it necessarily the tightest tolerance stuff for use on precision rifles. That said...while the carrier will likely be just fine, I'd suggest that you get a bolt that is properly fitted/headspaced to your match barrel. Generally speaking, unless you are buying something like a production LW barrel as offered by Spikes or a similar outfit, their match tubes for ARs include a matched bolt/extension. If your barrel did NOT come with a matched bolt, then that's where I'd start.

Yeah, it is the fluted one from spikes... So no bolt. What's the best way to get one matched to the barrel?

An upgraded extractor from somebody like BCM and a spare ejector spring might be a wise investment but otherwise your RRA bolt carrier is just fine for that (assuming it headspaces to your barrel, if it doesn't you better start hunting for another bolt).

edit: the closest you will get to a 'matched' bolt to your barrel is just mixing/matching until you find one that headspaces the way you want it to which is what I think Lothar Walther does anyways for their drop in barrels.
