This is a video I made comparing my Rock River LAR 8 to the Les Baer. They are both great guns. The Les Baer guarantees 2 ten shot groups at 1/2 MOA. The Rock River guarantees 1 MOA.

The comparison I make between the two weapons in more concerned with the cost/benefit aspect. Not the quality of the weapons.

I am not the greatest shot but my Rock River amazed me. The groups I shot (only 2 and 3 shots) highlight the accuracy of the weapon. I shot 3 shots, adjusted the scope for wind and shot two more shots. I am happy!!!!

Any Rock River users out there?

Re: Rock River LAR 8 versus the Les Baer .308

I am going to add a bipod, but I am waiting to see if I should put a new hand guard, or free float the barrel. Thinking of ways to upgrade the rifle. Also might add a Leupold or Nightforce scope.

Would like to hear stories about your experiences with the Rock River LAR 8. Also modifications that you made to the gun. Items you added to the gun. And views of the accuracy you have achieved.

Re: Rock River LAR 8 versus the Les Baer .308

Just posting a progress report on the LAR 8 - This gun has been employed for almost a year. Have shot thousands of rounds through it and I have not had any problems with it. The gun is amazingly accurate and I have been extending the intended range. It is an effective gun out to 600 yards. Since the posting of this video, I have acquired a second LAR 8 and the rifle so far matches the performance of the one in the video.

I cannot say enough about the quality and accuracy of Rock River products. I also own 3 RR AR 15s and have nothing but good reports to post.

For anyone interested in a quality weapon that is durable and accurate out of the box for a reasonable price, I would not hesitate to recommend Rock River.

Re: Rock River LAR 8 versus the Les Baer .308

I have been shooting my LAR 8 for almost 1 1/2 years now and it still shoots like a champ. Thousands of rounds have gone through her. She likes just about any ammo I feed her, and will operate dirty without malfunctions. Not sure why there are not more LAR 8 users out there.

This gun will run with the best out there. For about $1,300 - out of the box it kicks ass.

Re: Rock River LAR 8 versus the Les Baer .308

I too have both a RRA LAR-8 and a LAR-15. Both shoot very good. I may be biased though, my sister works in sales at Rock River and they are just down the road from me. I did have feeding issues with the 308 and metal mags but the polymer mags are good to go.

Re: Rock River LAR 8 versus the Les Baer .308

I appreciate you making this video. I ran across it on YouTube about six months ago, and it was instrumental in my decision to buy the LAR-8. It finally arrived last week, and is a beauty. I'm still waiting on the scope, mount, and bipod to arrive now, but hope to have it on the range within two weeks. Thanks!!

I have a Bushmaster BAR 308....it has a 16" bbl and everyone who shoots it thinks its a freak of nature..accurate as hell...I shoot 1/2 groups all day long, can pop small half size soda cans at will....it is also very accurate with surplus ammo....it is the same platform as the LAR8
