I'm going from a SA 3rdGeneration mount to a Smith Enterprises mount. On the SA mount, the adjustment block is pinned to the receiver with a roll pin. How do I get the pin out without ruining something?
Thanks
There are punches that have a rounded knob on the bottom designed to center the roll pin and push it out without damage.
If you don't have access to these I would use a old drill bit that was the closet size to the hole and use that. I wouldn't use any type of pointed punch because it would simply work it's way deeper into the roll pin.
Also a brass drift or something similar would less than likely damage the parts that the roll pin is in. They are handy to keep in any gun related tool box.
Buy some roll pin punches, or take it to someone who has them.....at amen point it is coming out with a roll pin punch, might as well be before it is mangled.
