It appears that the broach was well worn when broaching the receiver on my FN Model 70. There are some nasty tool marks in the bottom of the receiver and on the anti-bind rail.
As far as I can tell, they don't impede function. The bolt cycles smoothly, and I seem to have good lug engagement.
Is this something safe to clean up by hand with a riffle file until it's cosmetically OK, or is this something best left until the day comes to true the action and rebarrel?
