Round?

Re: Round?

Could you be more vague?

Seriously - the only parameters you have set are an AR platform and "varmints." How about at least saying what kind of varmints. Since you are in MI I am guessing coyotes and smaller. Are you thinking a .224-based round or maybe a 6mm?

So - go build a 6mmAR Turbo.

Re: Round?

223 works great 204 ruger a little money on ammo i think they making a 17 know also. almost anything will work on varmints so its really up too you i was going to build a 6.5 Grendel but its just to much money when im having a 6.5 creedmoor built

Re: Round?

Plain ole' 223 is hard to beat. I thought about getting a 204 or 243 WSSM upper for mine, but would hate the thought of losing that expensive brass the way I did with the cheaper 223. Get an 8 twist barrel and be able to run heavier bullets like the 60 gr. V-max for yotes or even heavier for long range paper and still be able to shoot the lighter 40-50 grainers for the bunnies. The 223 is hard to beat for an all around cartridge.

Re: Round?

Reinvention of the wheel is what brought us the tweel.

That being said, 223 is a no brainer. If you've all ready got one of those the 6mm arturbo looks sweet as all get out.
