It's nice to be shopping for an optic that I don't care how much it weighs for a change. Looking for an optic to put on a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger Precision. 2000 yard range nearby, so I'll stretch it as far as I can. No competition shooting as of yet, just shooting for fun to practice for hunting mainly. Might occasionally use the rifle for coyotes, antelope, or deer, but I'm not carrying it far. FFP is nice, but not 100% required. I tend to like higher magnification on the top end, but want it to be reasonably usable on the bottom end as well. The vortex razor 4.5-27 is intriguing. I'm not dead set on a price range. I want a good optic that is going to function well though. I would consider used options for higher end scopes. But then part of me is thinking I should get a super sniper fixed 10 power.

Also considering the Primary Arms 6-30x56. Any thoughts on their quality?

Thanks for any help.

Check out the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30 x56mm FFP (1/2 the price of the Vortex Razor). My brother recently purchased one and after testing it out, I plan to be ordering one in the near future. I currently run a Vortex Razor on my 6.5 CM Tikka build. If the price tag on the Vortex isn't appealing to you, check out the Athlon. The Cronus BTR would be another option from them as well. Still less expensive then Razor gen 2.

How does a gen ii razor 4.5-27 compare to the other mentioned scopes in terms of quality?
Gen 2 Razor is a beast to say the least. Great quality optic. You will not be disappointed with any of the higher end Vortex or Athlon scopes. Both brands have outstanding warranties, so worry none that if something happens to your optic, they will take care of you. The Razor gen 2 is Vortex's top of the line scope and the Cronus BTR is Athlon's top of the line scope. What I take into consideration when I purchase an optic is the amount of internal adjustment in the turrets.
