Looking at getting a RRS tripod setup. For now it will be mainly for photography and for spotting scope use observing wildlife. So for now just the legs and ball head. (May eventually get used with the Anvil-30 conversion for a 15lb AR-10 setup.) I have decided on the 24L or 34L, with the fixed apex, but I want the BH-55. Will the BH-55 fit on the 24L with the fixed apex? Anyone know.

yes it will Mount to it. The BH-55 base will be a little larger than the apex in diameter but there won’t be any hiccups with the leg operations.
