I was just wondering if anyone has a strong view on this bullet and also if there is any further ballistic info available (i've tried RUAG and the NRA without much success).

The decision on ammunition for the 2009 Imperial
Meeting has been made. RUAG, a Swiss munitions
company owning several well-known brands such
as RWS and NORMA, will supply 500,000 rounds
of 155gr 7.62mm ammunition to a specification
developed in discussion with the NRA. The round will
use a Sierra Match King 155gr bullet, loaded in an RWS
case with powder from RUAG’s wide range of ownmanufacture
powders. The length will be the standard
CIP overall length of 2.8” maximum. The target for
muzzle velocity from a .3065” bore diameter 30” x
1:13” twist barrel will be 2920 fps at a temperature of
20oC. The round will be supplied under the brandname
RWS. The contract is for one year only.

I was shooting an Accuracy International AW.

Tony you are a Sh*t...you know you saw it ;-)

Seriously though good ammo... and compared to other match ammo not to expensive £0.80 per round as opposed to £2 for FGMM 175.

Re: RUAG Sierra Match King 155gr

All right I was there!

TJC - the RUAG works very well in my TRG too and I've seen decent grouping out to 600 although not perhaps quite as good as the ones Ewen has fluked with his AW. I was seeing 0.5MOA, our man managed much much less on the day....

NRA were running a deal recently on buying 1000 rounds minimum. I believe they are selling off the 2009 batch as there has to be a new issue for the 2010 Imperial.

Cheers

but serioulsy we were getting consistant half moa (OR BETTER some of us) with this ammo.

I am looking forwards to the 2010 issue to see if they are still using the same bullet or moved to the new 155, then if it is as accurate it will be amazing.
