Anybody watching this show. Unfortunately, it is one you need to watch from the beginning, it would be hard to start in the middle of the season. It has been pretty good so far, a little slow at times. Of course, I love a good conspiracy theory book/movie/show. To me its kind of like wathcing a Tom Clancy and Dan Brown book combined to form a good show.

Its on AMC right before Mad Men on Sunday nights.

Re: Rubicon...

Rubicon is also available On Demand for free from Comcast. I hate Comcast, but it does have a decent On Demand selection.

It's a solid show, but it's not for people that like flashy shoot'em ups. Mission Impossible it is not. I really like the cerebral aspect of the show. Very good, and worth watching if you're into complex conspiracies.

Re: Rubicon...

I've been watching and find the pacing to be just right, though my wife leaves the room every week its on, finding it slow and confusing. I have always been a fan of movies or shows that I call "talkies", in that the story unfolds in the dialogue and symbolism presented by the director and writers. This show is right up my alley as must watch TV. The writing is top notch with lots of different references including Shakespeare. The multi layering of the story itself is a paradox in that as things seemingly unfold to explain what is occurring, it just gets more complicated each week. Sometimes I catch an episode later in the week and I'm amazed at the additional information I garnish from the extra viewing.

Re: Rubicon...

It certainly hotted up last night. It's the first episode that ended in a "cliffhanger."

I'm hooked on the show but their depiction of a bunch of analysts is far from accurate. They rarely speak spook-speak, they talk shop in the common areas and the secretary Maggie once brought her young daughter to work, which got me to wondering how one gets an SCI for a five-year-old.

Re: Rubicon...

Yes, last night was probably the best one yet, in my opinion. What I didn't realize is that there are only 2 more episodes this season. I have a feeling they are going to leave us hanging with alot of loose ends. Hope I am wrong.

Re: Rubicon...

I watched for the first time last night with time to kill between Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men. I decided based on last nights episode, I will start if from the beginning. I had a different impression on the show based on the ads I saw for it while watching Mad Men. It peaked my interested so I will give it a shot.

Re: Rubicon...

I really like the show, unfortunately I am not sure it will last long. It is one of those shows that doesn't appeal to a large audience in my opinion. Oh well, I will enjoy it while it is here.

Re: Rubicon...

From what ratings are other than critical.i.e. viewership vs. cost
may not make it..very cerebral and deep..not a common combination for popular commercial success

Re: Rubicon...

Rubicon just got shit-canned by AMC. You know people are messed in the head when shows like Jersey Shore get renewed while Rubicon gets canceled. It just goes to show you, you could write a Pulitzer Prize worthy novel, but if it won't make any money, then it will never get published. Same with TV shows, movies, etc. It's all about the money.

Haven't the past 3 years taught us that blind ambition to profit isn't an effective business strategy? Let's ask Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros, Bank of America, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bernie Madoff, et al.
