Ruger American Predator

Has anybody here purchased this rifle in any of the available calibers?


I sold my Ruger American 22/250 and got the Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor for the better coyote hunting ballistics and an inexpensive rifle for LR competition.

I'd like to get a good muzzle brake, one that shields from a downward, dust blasting effect. Any suggestions?

I've got the RAP 223. Scoped it with a Vortex Viper 3-9x40.




No complaints. Decent adjustable trigger, and it shoots well (sub-moa).

I've only used it on prairie dogs at 150-300 yards with 40 gr VMax handloads.

If yours has the 5/8 x 24 threads, you might look at Badger Ord mini FTE.

This was the last rifle i would want to buy but i ended up purchasing the RARP in 6.5cm since i couldnt get my hands on a weatherby vanguard s2 in the same caliber. It sat on the shelves from the time i first saw it which was 2-3weeks ago and who knows how much longer before that. Taking a second look at it today made me end up with it.

Here's mine in .308. I originally snagged a .243 but I decided I wanted the short .308 more, so I swapped with a local guy the other week. The trigger is impressive for such an affordable gun. I took a Dremel to the barrel channel so now the barrel is completely free floated when it has a bipod mounted. I have a bipod on the way and I'm going to top it with a SWFA SS scope as soon as I can decide what magnification I want.
