Ruger Hawkeye Long Range Target?

Already have an RPR. It's great. Looking for something different. Don't see anything wrong with a 77 and a painted stock and adjustable comb and 26" bbl and a detachable magazine. Don't want to spend over $1000.

I haven't shot one, but have fondled them at the local gun store.
For a factory rifle, in a more "traditional" stock, they look and feel very nice, the bolt runs smooth.
They are heavy. Did I mention heavy yet?
I don't think they will be any more accurate than the RPR, but if you like the traditional stock over the chassis stock, then it's a great option.

That being said, it's a bit of a big beast for just shooting 6.5CM, I'd be looking at it more for 6.5 PRC or hoping they come out with .300 PRC in that one.

Also if you want a rifle not in a chassis stock and under $1k, make sure to give the Tikka T3x CTR a close look. It gives you a lot of value, great accuracy and lots of options in a cheap package.

The browning looks nice. Love the stock. But I would prefer something with a detachable mag.

Did you even look?

I should probably just leave this thread but seriously consider the bergara HMR, it has a better/more versatile action and the stock has pillars and they are proven to shoot. I'm sure you can find one around $900 or less. And the Ruger was designed after the HMR.
